Simulacra Sonora // Interference Fields
A soundwalk where painted circles on the ground arrange the music you hear.
01 / Simulator
Walk it here
Move the figure across the painted circles. Each circle carries one layer of the same piece. The layers run continuously and never restart, so position changes level only and everything stays locked together.
Silent preview - the meters show what you would hear
WASD or arrows, click to walk, drag the figure.

02 / The idea
Ground idea, then variations
Painted circles as a score
The simple version: circles on the ground hold separate layers of the same piece. Stand in one circle and you hear that layer. Step into an overlap and the layers meet, already in time, no restarting. The paint makes the music visible before anyone scans anything.
This is the starting point
If the ground idea works, it could grow in a few directions: more circles and stranger shapes; a way for people to actively change the music while walking; or zones that respond to how many people are inside them. None of this is fixed yet — they are just possible next steps.

Technical note
Consumer GPS lands within roughly 3 to 5 meters. The zones therefore use smoothed positions, a fade band at the edges and hysteresis instead of a hard boundary. That is also why a circle is 10 meters across rather than 2.
